Information

On February 21, the China National Intellectual Property Office (CNIPA) approved and issued a new patent design for Huawei’s upcoming integrated smartphone.

The design patent reveals that Chinese tech giant Huawei’s new smartphone will come with a full-screen display function that is bent to the back of the device and merged backwards. Due to this, it gives the handset a circular arc transition not only on the left and right sides but also on the top and bottom.

According to the patent, Huawei’s upcoming smartphone comes with only one USB Type C charging port and it is located at the bottom. The volume key and the power button are located on the right. Quite surprisingly, there are no other ports. This means the phone does not even come with a speaker grille. It seems that the company might use the screen to make sounds.

Moreover, it is also worth noting that the display of this patented Huawei smartphone does not come with a front selfie camera as well. There are no holes or any other signs of fringe. As per the look, it looks like a complete full-screen panel.

Obviously, the design includes a rear camera. But the rear camera bump matrix looks weird with a small display. It is possible that if this handset comes to the market then it will bring some interesting new technologies along with it like a stealth camera.

Possibly, this rear camera will use electrochromic technology which will allow the handset to quickly change the opacity of the glass covering the camera array below. It suggests that practically it will be all black, and you won’t be able to see the camera until and unless you trigger the camera app. If this handset turns out to be a reality then it will bring a new genre of hidden display smartphones with disappearing cameras.
